Glass River Ranch

Where do you go for foundation-bred Quarter Horses? We hope you will look at what Glass River Ranch has to offer. Located in central Michigan, Glass River Ranch is owned and operated by Grant Sage, his wife, Lynne, and daughter, Kate.

The Sage’s goal is to produce and provide for the public nice looking, good-minded versatile and talented cow horses. As a former roper and farrier, Grant saw the broad range of ability in the foundational Quarter Horse; they easily adapted to the needs of the majority of his clients -- from trainers and riders in cutting, reining, contesting and pleasure to backyard use.

From his own 30 years experience with contesting and performance horses, Grant came to highly respect the foundation bloodlines that have given us rodeo and arena horses such as the great Driftwood, Hancock and King horses whose offspring are still champions today.

The Sages have two quiet, beautiful and versatile stallions, Figure Four Blue and Oaks Black Magic. Figure Four Blue, a 1993 blue roan, combines the famous Eddie, Hancock and King bloodlines that were very popular in the heart of the old west. He is a very well mannered, good-minded, large-boned horse that produces offspring of like manner.

“Magic”, a 1996 black, is an accomplished cutting horse. His pedigree includes such famous horses as Doc O’Lena / Docs Oak / Doc Bar and Poco Bueno / King.

Take a look at the Sage’s mares as well. You’ll see such names as King, Leo, Hollywood Gold, Oklahoma Star, Bert, Doc Bar, Ike Rude, Joe Hancock, Eddie, Blue Valentine and other great bloodlines.
